Another Party

Tonight instead of a support group meeting WeightWise had a holiday party. All the staff was present. There was weight loss surgery friendly food, door prizes, and all patients (pre and post surgical) received a bag filled with protein bars and protein shakes. I also received one of Chef Dave's cookbooks. The room was packed and there were many people there I had never met before -- including some that were one of the first patients when the hospital opened in 2006 and some that I have not seen in a while. Dr Walton announced that they are coming up on their 1000th patient! It is amazing to watch each other shrink from month to month. The most amazing tonight was a man who had gastric bypass in May. He started out at 300 lbs and now weighs 150 lbs! The party will continue tomorrow night at our monthly meet and greet. We are having dinner at Abuelos in Bricktown and then riding the water taxi along the canal -- BRRRRRRRR (but fun).
It is time again to thank the friend who helped me start this amazing journey!
