I am home from Kansas City. It was a good trip. Well, at least once the storms and tornado warnings passed. Good class and had a great time with friends and coworkers. Tuesday night a friend/coworker and I went to dinner and to see a movie. We saw Hungover. It was funny, but if you plan on seeing it I suggest not seeing it with your kids -- unless you are not easily embarrassed!
One funny story from the trip. I was waiting in the Doubletree lobby for a friend to pick me up. One of the other attendees from Chicago was meeting another coworker, Mark, who lived in the area. Mark used to cover Oklahoma City and we had co-managed an employee for a while so we had been in touch often in the past. We stopped co-managing that employee a year ago in March. While in the lobby I saw Mark across the lobby so I went up to him and said hello. He just gave me a blank look so I told him who I was and he immediately said he had not recognized me. We sat down and started talking, you know the usual, "how are things going?" About 10 minutes later he asks me, "so what branch are you in?" It was obvious he was still trying to figure out who I was!
As for traveling, I am staying put, at least for a few weeks. The next trip is not until July 16 to 18 to North Carolina for training on a new medication being launched. Then it is to Chicago on June 28 and 29.
I met the girls from support group for coffee last night to discuss the rescheduling of our Eureka Springs weekend. We all had conflicts for July and then school restarts in August (a couple are teachers) so we have rescheduled for September 24 to 27. That will probably work out best anyway as not only will I need fall clothes by then but that is the week after my camping trip with 80 sixth graders so I will probably need the time away!
