Almost One Year

Today is an anniversary of sorts. One year ago today I had my pre-op appointment with Dr Walton -- final physical exam, instructions for the day before and the day of surgery were provided, consent forms were signed, I paid for everything in full, and lab work was drawn. I was really on a high that day as everything was coming together and I was almost there.
Once surgery was over and I started losing weight faster I went through sizes very quickly. I saved back the capri pants I was wearing the day of my pre-op appointment and although not the same shirt, one very similar. Today I took them out of the closet and put them on. WOW!! I could have fit one of the girls in the pants with me!
My plan was to add those clothes to the Goodwill pile after taking today's picture, but I decided to fold them up and put them back in my closet. They will always be my reminder of where I have come from and a place I will never go back to.
Today is so much different than it was a year ago. It was pouring rain a year ago (don't ask me how I remember that!) but this year it was hot -- 103 degrees. I went swimming and did not feel self conscious about walking around in my bathing suit then laid out on a chair in the backyard and did not feel a bit over heated despite the temperature. I love my sleeve!
