Plateaus

I have been stuck at the same weight since I got back from New York. Others have had stalls that lasted much longer, but I do not like them.
I received a weight loss newsletter today and ironically one of the topics was plateaus. The consensus was that plateaus are necessary as the body readjusts to the weight loss, but there also are ways to address plateaus. The methods discussed were to increase protein intake, be sure to keep fluid intake at or above 64 ounces, change type and increase amount of exercise, increase number of calories consumed in a day, and to change the types of food you are eating. I found the last suggestion interesting. The article stated that if you eat the same things over and over again your body gets used to metabolizing the same things and slows down.
I am going to work on changing up my "diet" and also increasing the daily calorie count. I am still averaging around 600 calories a day and that is just not enough anymore. Actually, I need to work on all these areas! My protein count has gotten better but could still use some improvement and my fluid intake has been pitiful lately.
So, I am pushing forward and hoping to get past this plateau soon so that I can get to goal. I see Dr Walton again on Tuesday and maybe he will have some further suggestions for me too.
