We spent Labor Day weekend in Salina, Kansas visiting with our friends, the LeVignes. We had a GREAT time. While there is not much to do in Salina, Laura and I managed to get in some shopping while Chuck and Todd kept the kids occupied in the pool. We went to a great zoo and wildlife museum on Sunday.
This was my first experience eating out so many meals in a row but found it very manageable, and even got to use my surgery wallet card to be able to pay child plate price at an all you can eat buffet. We got a good laugh on the way home -- we stopped in Guthrie at a BBQ place. I ordered a bowl of chili. I was eating it very slowly, as I am supposed to. The manager all of a sudden came out with a chopped brisket sandwich and onion rings for me. He told me he did not like their chili either so this was on the house. I explained why I was eating so slow and had not eaten much and he said he just wanted to make sure I was happy and since he could not take it back gave it to Chuck. Chuck said we could really work this to our advantage. LOL
Saturday night Laura and I stopped at BigLots and loaded up on snack foods to bring back to the hotel. I bought a bad of pork rinds as they are something I am allowed. My tummy did not think much of them though. I won't try them again for a very long time!
Hopefully, the scale will show some benefit from all the exercise I got this weekend. Loren and I are planning to start back to our 3 times per week Tan and Tone tomorrow evening.
